Happy Fridayyyyyyyy!

How was everyone's Valentines day? I'm not a huge fan of this "holiday," I use the word holiday very loosly for this occasion, but Stan and I actually had a great night! He took me to see Silver Linings, which was AWESOME! I even shed a little tear at the end. Very sweet and funny movie. I recommend it. He also bought me the book so I plan to start that soon. I love seeing the similarities and differences in books and movies. Then we just came home and cooked a steak dinner and drank a bottle of wine. Succesful night I would say.

Now I know everyone is on Instagram these days and if it's not on Instagram, it didn't happen!  Come see me @emazey!

1. Sunday brunch ritual. One of our favorite places for brunch, Benjys. Houston peeps you must try it out.
2. Getting married to my best friend in 36 days ahhhhhhhhhh!
3. Taking my first jacuzzi bath at the new house. Most relaxing thing for me. Well that and my iPad.
4. Miss Penelope. This sweetheart is already 6 months old and I can't wait to see her next weekend again.
5. My sister's boyfriends birthday cupcakes. woah. say that 5 times fast.
6. That would be me shopping on etsy for some wedding shiz at work. One of my favortie websites, they have EVERYTHING.
7. Invitations went out this week and I cant wait to start seeing the RSVP's come in.
8. Like I said Valentine's day isnt really my thing but I decided to be festive yesterday. Target kids section for 5 bucks! Steal.
9. My sweetheart surprised me with some gorgeous flowers, cookbooks and the Silver Linings book. Apparently the chocolates weren't from him, they were from the neighbors. I put them in the picture and he goes "I didn't get you those chocolates" oops. who knew.

I will have to say I'm a sucker for funny cards and this is a good one.

Have a great weekend. Houston will be crazy this weekend with the all star game but it wont stop us from celebrating Natalie's 25th birthday!!!

Tweet Baby Girl

Happy Valentine's Day all you lovebirds.

This past weekend Tess and I hosted the cutest baby shower, IMHO. We had so much fun celebrating our sweet friend Jennifer and her soon to be baby girl Molly. She has about 75 dresses now and will have a new outfit to wear for at least a whole year.

Jennifer's mom hosted the shower at her house and thank goodness for Tess and her creative brain and maybe a little bit of pinterest we were able to put together a tweet baby girl shower. The theme of the nursery is birds so it all tied together and was so fitting.

Jennifer has been craving and loving macaroni and cheese throughout the pregnancy so we decided to have Molly's macaroni bar. I woke up early Sunday to start getting together all the ingredients and as I started mixing it together I start having a panic attack. Let's be honest I'm not the greatest cook and something just didnt look right. I wasn't about to feed 30 people something I wasn't sure of. So I wake Stan up, he comes to the rescue and it turned out delicious.

I didn't take took many pictures of the actual party, just before everyone showed up. Can't wait to meet Molly!

Before it went in the oven.

Weekend of Happenings

Somehow I seem to only be able to recap my weekends. The wedding is 7 weeks away and my weekdays seem to be filled with work and running errands.

By the way anyone have any suggestions for wedding favors? This is a tough one. I can't think of anything original.

Saturday was a shopping day. My mom, sister and I were looking for a mother of the bride dress. After searching for a while we finally came across a beautiful dress! My mom is going to look stunning. Then we raided the amazing Dillard's sale. BCBG dresses for 80% off!

We also celebrated my sisters boyfriend's birthday that night. We ended up taking a party bus which I haven't done in forever. Felt like I was in college again and it was great.

Crazy lights.

Sunday we were nursing our hangovers all morning. Now that we live in town we can continue our brunch tradition on Sunday's and it was the perfect hangover cure. It's never too early for a mimosa and the chicken and waffles hit the spot.

Then Sunday night we went to our neighbors and then to one of coworkers house. I was rooting for the Ravens for the sole reason on their kicker, Justin Tucker representing UT and maybe a little for Ray Lewis!! Beyonce stole the show and apparently shutdown the stadium. Hoping for a Texans super bowl next year.

Hope everyone has a great week. I hope to get more blogging in this week.

Busy Weekend Fun

I can't believe it's the end of January and it's a chilly humid 71 degrees here. This past weekend flew by. We were on the gooo all weekend.

Friday we went on a fun little double date and then went out with several of our friends.

Saturday we had to get up pretty early and head to New Braunfels for my college friends wedding. Priscilla looked beautiful and it was so good to see a bunch of old friends I haven't seen in a while. Her dress was stunning!

Alysha brought Penelope and I couldn't put her down the entire time. She was a precious doll!!! Her leopard, sequins pants were to die for. What a trooper she was to be at a wedding with 350 people. Stan loves him some babies.

Sunday I took my bridals. I was so nervous. First time getting out in my dress. Our photography picked two really cool locations and I can't wait to see the pics. My sister was a huge help fixing my hair from the wind, fluffing my dress, taking the veil on and off. I feel relieved those are done and can now work on a few last details. 8 weeks away!!!

Sneak peek of my bouquet.

Sorry for all the iphone pictures. My camera apparently didn't make it out this weekend.

Linking up with Sami!

FIESTA!!

This past weekend Stan and I had our first wedding shower. It was a fajita and margarita themed couples shower. Such a fun theme. I recommend to everyone! Stan's aunt, mom and my sister hosted the shower and they went all OUT on the decorations.

Almost everything was homemade, except of course the pinatas. I couldn't thank them enough for putting so much effort into it. Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun and some of us maybe a little too much fun *cough, cough* Stanley.

My sister of course made us play a game and embarrased the heck out of us, asking questions like: how many people has Stan kissed and out of all of Emily's friends who would Stan say looks the best in a bikini....seriously nat talk about blushing. It was funny none the less.

The wedding is two months away and it feels like its tomorrow. The anxiety is starting to kick back in and don't worry not about getting married, but mainly about everything being done for the big day.

Lists constantly run through my mind.....send cake ribbons, buy wedding shoes, pick up Ketubah, write thank you notes, schedule bridals.........

Anyways back to the splendid shower.

Picture overload. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll be attending a baby shower and checking things off the wedding to do list.

Life Lately...

Well it's been almost a month since I've blogged and I'm ready to jump back on the bandwagon. My life has been all sorts of chaos. My recent fortune cookie said "Adventure can be a real happiness, " so I guess I can't complain.

Christmas and Hanukkah came and went. It already feels like it was so long ago. We had a great time spending it with family.

Then their was New Year's. I'm not going to lie it wasn't a great one for us. Stan and I both got really sick, probably from all the stress and we barely even made it to midnight. But you bet your a** we ate our cabbage and black eyed peas for luck and prosperity.

We managed to recently move. It was not an easy task. Being in the accounting field this is our busy season and work is in high demand at this time. So we had to work around all of that and pack a whole house and move boats all after work. It was EXHAUSTING, but we have finally moved back into town and found a house we are in love with.

I'm already missing the lake but being so close to everything is really nice. I don't have to plan my days around living far and my 7 minute drive to work compared to 1.5 hour drive is quite blissful.

During this past month I also got a new job. My fiance and his business partner started their own accounting firm. This was a big leap of faith, but so far so good we have been blessed with little to no bumps in the road. This has always been his dream and it's pretty cool that I get to share it with him.

Everything in the wedding department is going well. I take my bridals very soon and Stan and I are filming our love story at the beginning of February so life has literally been non stop. We had our first couple's shower this weekend and I can't wait to share it with yall.

Have a great Monday!! It's been pretty gloomy in Houston which makes me want to just curl up in bed and do NOTHING.
